ESPALTHERMAHeat pump reports
When you confirm your heat pump model with Help others get their heat pump recognised ticked, ESPAltherma sends one report here. It lets ESPAltherma recognise the next heat pump of the same model without asking its owner.
What a report contains
- The model you confirmed, and the registries ESPAltherma had to correct on your unit.
- The identification codes of your heat pump: the board numbers of the indoor and outdoor units, their software version and capacity.
- The replies of the heat pump registries, read once during the detection. They include the readings of that moment (temperatures, pressures...).
- The ESPAltherma version and the type of board.
- A random installation ID, so that a board sending again replaces its report instead of adding one.
The site also records the country and city the report comes from, as Cloudflare (which hosts it) locates the connection. It shows in which regions each model is installed.
The web interface shows the exact report before anything is sent: See exactly what is sent, next to the checkbox.
What is not sent
Your Wi-Fi and network settings, the MQTT broker and its login, passwords, your name, e-mail address or location. The IP address of the connection is not stored: only its country and city, and the day of each report.
How reports are used
The identification keys of confirmed models are added, with the model name only, to the list of known heat pumps of ESPAltherma (data/fingerprints.json on GitHub). Reports also show where a definition file does not match real units.
Changing your mind
Untick the box in the web interface: nothing more is sent. To remove a report already sent, open an issue with the installation ID shown in the report.
